CIA fears Ukraine could lose battle to Russia by 2024.

Two days before the vote of the House of Representatives in the United States on a package of billions of dollars in aid to Ukraine, the chief of the American intelligence agencies issued a warning to the American people.

Bush Center. “It is my belief that the assistance of the military would provide.”

He stated that the situation would be considerably more dire if extra assistance was not provided. According to what he said, “the risk is very real that the Ukrainians will lose on the battlefield by the end of 2024, or at the very least that (Russian President Vladimir) Putin will be in a position to dictate the terms of a political settlement.” He went on to say this, but he did not elaborate on what he meant by “losing” the fight.

A woman was slain and two other individuals, including a child who was 14 years old, were injured in the Synelnykivskyi neighborhood, which is located southeast of Dnipro, according to Mykola Lukashuk, who shared the information on Telegram without providing any other details.

As a result of an attack on the infrastructure of the town of Kryvyi Rig, which is located west of Dnipro, three individuals, consisting of two men and a woman, were also hurt, according to Oleksandr Vilkul, the chief of the local military administration, who made the announcement on Telegram.

On Thursday, the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, William Burns, admitted that if the United States did not provide Ukraine with military help, the country could face serious defeats in its conflict with Russia.

The Ukrainian people are “at a tough moment on the battlefield right now,” Burns stated during a question and answer session that took place at the Bush Center Forum on Leadership in Dallas.

According to Burns, Ukrainian troops “can hold their own on the battlefield in 2024 and continue to do damage with deeper strikes in Crimea…and against the Black Sea fleet.” This is because the United States will provide additional help to the Ukrainian military.

Burns concluded by saying that “with the boost that would come from military assistance, both practically and psychologically…the Ukrainians are entirely capable of holding their own through 2024 and puncture Putin’s arrogant view that time is on his side.”

His remarks come at a time when Congress is still unable to budge from its impasse regarding funding to Ukraine. The House Speaker, Mike Johnson, presented three proposals on Wednesday that would provide military assistance to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. One of the legislation, which would fund $60.4 billion for Ukraine, was presented.

“Without supplemental assistance, the picture is a lot more dire,” Burns explained to reporters. “I think there is a very real risk that the Ukrainians could lose on the battlefield by the end of 2024, or at least put Putin in a position where he could essentially dictate the terms of a political settlement.”

During his speech on Thursday, Burns also discussed China, the Middle East, and other urgent issues related to national security. He made a passing reference to the far-reaching ramifications of the conflict in Ukraine, including mentioning the Indo-Pacific region. According to Burns, “the surest way to undo that impact is for us to be seen to be walking away from the Ukrainians right now.” This is despite the fact that Western solidarity in the face of Russia’s aggression was originally sobering for Chinese President Xi Jinping, who was considering making a move on Taiwan.
