MOVEMENTS-UBS names three US capital markets leaders.

As the world’s largest wealth management moves to boost other divisions after its merger of Credit Suisse last year, which was inundated with losses.

UBS has appointed three banking industry veterans to run its U.S. capital markets arm. This action comes as UBS seeks to improve other divisions.

According to a memo that was reviewed by Reuters, the bank appointed Santiago Gilfond as vice president of the Americas ECM unit, Gregor Feige and Brad Miller as co-heads of the unit, and Santiago Feige as vice president of the unit.

In July of 2024, Feige will begin his post as the leader of Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT), which he will also be responsible for. During his twenty-year career, he has held positions at Citigroup and JPMorgan, among other companies.

While Mr. Miller will continue to manage the consumer and retail industry, he will also take on this new job.

Following more than three decades of service as the Americas ECM leader at Credit Suisse, Gilfond has decided to join the franchise. While assuming his new post, he will continue to be accountable for the worldwide industry. He will report to Tommy Rueger, who is the worldwide Co-Head of Environmental, Social, and Governance.

The acquisition of Credit Suisse by UBS in March of this year was the very first time that two internationally systemically important banks have ever merged from one another. In spite of the fact that it was able to avert any significant catastrophe, the Swiss bank stated that the subsequent phase of absorbing its competitor would be more challenging because the financial results of the fourth quarter were poor.
